New Shipping Options

As a consumer myself, it always irks me when sellers charge (what I feel) are outrageous amounts for shipping; which is why I always strive to keep my shipping costs low.  I do not make a profit on costs and charge only what it costs me to ship (includes postage & packing materials).
Until recently I have never had any issues with product being damaged in transit.... Last week however, I was informed that one of my customers received their order completely smashed.
I have tested the durability of my jewelery and was not able to recreate the kind of damage that was done to the order (which was returned to me so I could remake & send a new order). The cupcake was literally crushed, into almost a powder.  It would have taken hundreds of pounds of pressure to do that kind of damage. :(

Which brings me to my new shipping options:  I have decided to keep a low cost shipping option, which will be a bubble wrap envelope with the items wrapped in bubble wrap as well for a cost of $3.00CAD.  I have added a premium shipping option which will GUARANTEE the order will arrive safely, packaged in a small box with bubble wrap as well and sent via parcel post rather than standard letter post (letter mail is processed & treated differently than parcel post according to Canada Post).  This option will cost $8.00CAD.
Because I love my customers so much, I am now including a free gift with every order that is shipped with the premium option.
